The Role of Parents in the Education of the child.

Parents have to play an important role in the “All round development” of their child. In this the ‘Academic’ education is a very important aspect in the upbringing of a child. In general no child likes to sit with books; copies etc. and spend time on it/with it. Here the parents have to be optimistic and create an environment that is conducive to the child to develop interest and enjoy the learning, performing, playing etc. Children in any age are subject to some sort of pressure for which parental understanding, tolerance and support are vital. Parents can play an invaluable role in helping to convey and re-inforce the facts of file one has to go through at every stage. Even the most enlightened, student can suffer a crisis of confidence at any time, particularly just before the examination. On this parents will need to reassure them gently and deal to promote confidence, courage, trust etc. A little guidance and encouragement throughout the year can help a great deal. Helping the children in their planning, fitting holidays and social commitments around critical times will be of great value. This will ease their burden.

Reinforcing the messages of positive thinking and taking control of the process will also help them. At the same time the parents need to make sure that diet, lifestyle, friends circle and peer group are conducive to good going on a right path for better happiness and performance. Demonstration of support and care do a lot to relieve stress and maintain self-confidence. Students respond well to this. It takes very little effort but can make a big difference. Here the parents must have the wisdom not to overdo it. Often just listening to someone and letting them talk about their concerns/ worries can be all that is needed to make them feel better. A sympathetic ear can often help someone regain a sense of perspective very quickly. Moral and Emotional support and reassurance are the key points for any parent to play his/her role in the Education of the child.

I wish to thank and congratulate the entire school fraternity for their good will, support and co-operation in the growth of the school. May the Lord shower His blessings upon each one. We trust in the Divine assistance of the Lord in all our under-takings towards the welfare of every child who is entrusted to our care.
